Illumination was a small scale touring theatre piece celebrating the return of the Lindisfarne Gospels to the North East in 2013. Written by Donna Worthington and directed by Bill Hopkinson, it depicted the struggle of a family to live well according to their beliefs. It incorporated animations of the beautiful illuminations of animals and celtic knots from the Lindisfarne Gospels, projected over three perspex panels, as well as scenes featuring snowy landscapes and stormy seascapes.
